Since the Eau Claire Medical Clinic opened its doors in 1976, we have always strived to better serve you, our patients. Year after year, we continue to grow with new staff and better services. See the full story below.
A Growing Clinic, to Better Serve You
Dr. Obaid started his “Internal Medicine, Diseases of the Chest” clinic in 1976. His reputation as an excellent physician spread throughout the Chippewa Valley and beyond. As his practice continued to grow it became clear he needed a partner. Dr. Anton (Tony) Kidess joined him in 1997 to form Eau Claire Medical Clinic, sc. In 2003 Dr. Kyle Dettbarn became the third pulmonologist at Eau Claire Medical Clinic. These three physicians played a key role at Sacred Heart Hospital with their specialties in Critical Care, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine.
The following year our clinic felt the need for an Internal Medicine physician. Dr. Kristine Reesman, a native of Eau Claire and a North High School graduate, filled that need and in 2004 became the fourth physician to join Eau Claire Medical Clinic. In 2005 Jennifer Insteness completed her clinicals with Dr. Kidess and was hired as our first nurse practitioner. Jennifer cares for our patients at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
2006 was a year of growth for Eau Claire Medical Clinic. Dr. Fadi Sabbagh came to us from Tennessee to become our fourth pulmonary specialist. Dr. Fadi Alsous, Interventional Cardiologist brought cardiology to Eau Claire Medical Clinic. We added a treadmill and echocardiography to enhance and improve patient care. Later in 2006 we opened our own laboratory which proved to be a great convenience for our physicians and our patients.
2007 brought Dr. Kristin Wogahn to Eau Claire Medical Clinic. Dr. Wogahn started her Family Medicine practice with us on a part time basis. At this point, we out grew our walls and moved cardiology to a new location at 950 W. Clairemont Avenue in June 2007. In 2008 Carey Boehm, who specializes in cardiology, became our second nurse practitioner. She works closely with Dr. Alsous and also opened a one day per week cardiovascular risk reduction clinic that includes a dietician appointment with services provided by Tammy Schofield, RD. Just a few short months after Carey started, the cardiology clinic continued to expand by the addition of Dr. Raj Maddikunta in October 2008.
2010 proved to be the year of the nurse practitioner. Tara Kovacevich, Ann Bauer and Karen Bowman completed their Family Nurse Practitioner degrees and are a great addition to Eau Claire Medical Clinic.
Over the years our physicians felt the need to take their specialties to the people. Several of our physicians travel to outreach clinics throughout the area. Check the locations tab on our home page.
